Terms and Policies
It is the primary goal of Double "H" Birddogs to send our puppies to loving, nurturing, companion homes in order to live fulfilling and productive lives. It is also our secondary goal
to pair our puppies with families that will uitilize them in the way they were bred for, such as hunting or field/hunting trails. With that in mind, we will offer incentives to those
families who choose to enter their dog in AKC or NAVHDA trials or events. If your dog achieves either AKC Champion, Field Champion, Amateur Field Trial Champion, Senior Hunt or
Master Hunt test title, AKC Companion dog title, or NAVDHA Natural Ability or Utility title we will offer a fifty (50%) discount on the next puppy purchased from Double "H"
Birddogs. A picture and copy of the title will be required for the discount.
Puppy are priced from $400 to $800. Prices will fluctuate from litter to litter depending on the dam and sire and after thorough evaluation. No puppy will be allowed to go to
their new homes prior to 8 weeks of age. They will be handled and socialized daily until they go to their new homes.

Puppies will be held only if a deposit of $100.00 has been received, and is still for sale until such time as said deposit is received by Double “H” Bird Dogs. Full payment must be
made before puppy leaves Double “H” Bird Dogs possession. Deposit is non-refundable, however it may be carried over to the next litter, at the owner’s request. Deposits are
accepted and on a first-come, first-serve basis and we always maintain the right to reserve the first pick. Deposits are non-refundable unless it is in compliance with the “Selection
Process” section of our contract. We limit the number of deposits that we accept in order to decrease the chances that anyone is not able to receive a puppy. If an appropriate
gender of puppy is not produced then we will either refund the deposit or place it toward the next litter depending on the buyer's preference. While we cannot guarantee the color
of puppies, amount of spots or coat, there is generally a wide variety to choose from. It is important to make your deposit early as we do not breed more than one or two litters
per year and they can be spoken for before the breeding even takes place. In cases where a buyer has a change at home that prevents taking ownership of their new puppy we will
offer that the deposit be placed toward a future litter of their choice, but deposits will not be refunded. This policy is in place to prevent potential buyers from carelessly placing
deposits with multiple litters and then withdrawing their interest. Once Buyer takes possession of his/her puppy, Buyer has 48 hours from the time of possession to return puppy
for any reason, less the $100.00 deposit and a $50.00 re-advertisement fee to compensate Double "H" Birddogs for any expenses that will be incurred with the placement of the
puppy in another home. Please consider carefully before putting down a deposit or purchasing a Double "H" puppy.
Our commitment is to produce quality German Shorthaired Pointers. We ask that your commitment be to carefully plan for your new puppy’s future. Deposits may be sent in the
form of personal check, cash, money order, PayPal, or Western Union. They will be held until we know that we have enough suitable puppies for each of our clients.

Health/Genetic Guarantee
To the best of Double “H” Bird Dogs knowledge, the German Shorthaired Pointer PUPPY is free of signs or symptoms of disease or congenital defects as of the date PUPPY leaves
seller. BUYER has four (4) working days from the date of PUPPY pick-up to take PUPPY to a veterinarian for a new owner check-up. If PUPPY is found to have a life-threatening
genetic or health problem, BUYER shall notify Double “H” Bird Dogs immediately. BUYER will have up to fifteen (15) calendar days from the diagnosis of condition for recourse.
Upon written documentation of the condition presented to Double “H” Bird Dogs from the examining veterinarian you may elect any of the following options.
1. Double “H” Bird Dogs agrees to replace PUPPY with a same sex puppy of an upcoming litter provided the PUPPY and A.K.C. Dog Registration Application are returned at
BUYER’s expense and the PUPPY has not been hurt or injured.
2. BUYER may request a refund provided the PUPPY and A.K.C. Dog Registration Application are returned at BUYER’s expense and the PUPPY has not been hurt or injured.
3. BUYER may elect to have a genetic problem fixed, when possible, and Double “H” Bird Dogs will reimburse BUYER for expenses up to a maximum of $100.00 after receiving
the original bill from a licensed veterinarian. Any additional expenses are BUYER’s sole responsibility. Double “H” Birddogs will not be responsible, under any circumstances,
for any other veterinary (or other) bill incurred by the BUYER. All transportation charges are to be paid by BUYER, including those incurred if the PUPPY is returned an/or any
transportation charges on a replacement PUPPY.
4. PUPPY is guaranteed until one (1) year of age against genetic/congenital defects which would cause death or the need to be humanely destroyed. If such an unlikely case was
to occur, a written veterinarian report, with autopsy if necessary, must be submitted in writing and signed by a licensed veterinarian. The PUPPY will be replaced or
the purchase price will be returned at Double “H”’ Bird Dogs’ sole discretion.
5. As it pertains to the above sections 1, 2, 3 and 4, Double “H” Bird dogs reserves the right to have any diagnosis or finding verified by our veterinarian.
6. All dogs will have their tails docked and dew claws removed and be current on a vaccination program at time of purchase. All dogs are guaranteed to be in good health at time
of sale.
Selection Process:
Upon receipt of deposit or full payment, you will be placed on our waiting list and notified by email or phone of your position on our waiting list. You may choose to be dropped from
our waiting list for any reason. If you choose to be dropped from our waiting list prior to five (5) weeks of age of the puppy you may receive a full refund, if you elect to be
dropped after the fifth (5th) week you may receive a refund (less the deposit). Any requests to be removed from our waiting list or change to a future waiting list must be made in
writing with no change effective until we receive such notice.
Double “H”’ Bird Dogs’ waiting lists order and order in which you may pick-up an available puppy is strictly by receipt of a deposit. Selections must be made within seventy-two (72)
hours of our notification of your turn, beginning at approximately four (4) weeks of age. You will receive pictures shortly after birth, and once a week thereafter, to watch them
grow and see their coloring and development. If you cannot or will not make a selection within the allotted time, the next customer in line will be allowed to select his/her puppy.
After passing on a selection, you may thereafter make a selection from the available puppies after all other customers have made their selection or you may request to be placed on
a future waiting list or request a refund in accordance with the paragraph above.
All puppies remain the property of Double “H” Bird Dogs until you accept delivery or take possession of your selected puppy, normally at eight (8) weeks of age. In the unlikely case
that you puppy dies before you pick him/her up, you make choose to select another available puppy, be placed on a future waiting list, or request a full refund. If your selected puppy
is injured or sick before you accept delivery, you may choose to wait until her/she is healed and well (as determined by Double “H” Bird dogs), select another available puppy, be
placed on a future waiting list, or request a full refund.
Conditions of Sale:
1. Both BUYER and Double “H” Bird Dogs acknowledge that no representations, verbal or implied, have been made with regard to the PUPPY’s future abilities.
2. PUPPY is guaranteed purebred and guaranteed to qualify for registration in the American Kennel Club (A.K.C.)
3. If BUYER is unable or unwilling to keep PUPPY for any reason, they may return the PUPPY (at any age) to Double “H” Bird dogs, at BUYER’s expense, for placement in
another home. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will BUYER ever place PUPPY (at any age) in an animal shelter, pound or pet store of any type.
4. BUYER agrees to have annual veterinarian check-ups including heartworm check and keep all immunizations current according to American Veterinary Medical Association (A.V.
M.A.) guidelines. Double “H” Bird Dogs’ Puppies will receive dewormers at 2,4,6, and 8 weeks of age as well as puppy vaccines at 6 and 9 weeks. Our clients will be expected to take
their new puppy to their veterinarian within 96 hours of purchase to confirm general health and establish further vaccination schedules. Puppy diseases can be very detrimental to a
puppy’s health and maintaining a vaccination schedule can prevent puppy diseases and is required by BUYER as terms of this “Puppy Sales Contract”. BUYER agrees to properly
administer heartworm preventative treatments on a regular basis as terms of this contract. BUYER also agrees to confine the puppy in a fenced yard or kennel run with adequate
housing and provide reasonable exercise. All Health Guarantees are void if BUYER does not have written documentation of proper health care as stated in this paragraph. No other
health warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, are made under this contract except those as stated.
5. Each puppy is guaranteed to have a sound and stable temperament provided they are properly socialized including obedience training and spending a large amount of time
socializing with your dog daily. The dog will not be teased or otherwise abused.
6. The BUYER agrees to pay all transportation costs incurred with the sale of this puppy.
7. Double “H” Bird Dogs is bound by this contract to original “BUYER” only. The State of Texas, County of Hidalgo, City of McAllen shall be the court of record for any legal
proceedings in reference to this “PUPPY SALES CONTRACT” by either Double “H” Bird Dogs or “BUYER”. If any section of this contract is found null and void through litigation,
all remaining sections shall remain in effect. Legal proceeding in other jurisdictions in reference to this “PUPPY SALES CONTRACT” are null and void.
We do not require that you spay/neuter your dog, although we highly recommend it unless you plan to compete in AKC conformation events. If you plan to breed we ask that they not
be breed prior to 2 years of age. We also ask that potential breeders title their dog in both conformation and other events (field trials, hunt tests, agility trials, obedience trials).
This partially ensures that the dog has received some unbiased measure of their individual quality. In some instances we reserve the right to sell a puppy with a Limited
Registration, but this will be discussed on a case by case basis.
Again, if you become unable to take care of your puppy we will always take back any of our puppies at any age, and we ask that as a puppy owner you maintain contact with us to let
us know how the puppy is doing. We also request that you contact us before transferring ownership of any of our puppies. We will try to match a puppy with a family based on
temperament and family dynamics. We reserve the right to decline selling of a puppy to any individual if we feel it is in the best interest of the puppy.
